{"id":108,"date":"2013-08-23T07:42:53","date_gmt":"2013-08-23T11:42:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/t3chvoid.com\/?p=108"},"modified":"2019-05-16T18:04:43","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T22:04:43","slug":"fun-trick-redirect-a-website-address-on-windows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/t3chvoid.com\/index.php\/2013\/08\/23\/fun-trick-redirect-a-website-address-on-windows\/","title":{"rendered":"Fun Trick: Redirect a Website Address on Windows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ldecKJl_trI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nUsing our knowledge of how the hosts file works, I came up with a fun trick you can play on your friends or relatives when they are using their computers.<\/p>\n<p>All you have to do is have access to their Hosts file and you can pretty much redirect any website to a completely different site.<\/p>\n<p>1) Know the IP of the website you want to redirect to<br \/>\n2) Open the hosts file in administrator mode<br \/>\n3) Add a new entry in the hosts file that looks like this:<br \/>\n(IP of the website you want to redirect to) (space) (website domain name)<br \/>\nexample: 111.111.111.111 www.t3chvoid.com<br \/>\n4) Save the hosts file with the new entry.<br \/>\n5) Open your web browser and type in the address of the website, and you will notice it redirects to the other website! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>The hosts file is located in the etc folder: C:\\Windows\\System32\\Drivers\\etc (On you computer it may not be the C: drive, so pick the drive that you have your Windows Installed on)<\/p>\n<p>Hope you Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Let me know if you guys have any ideas for new videos!
